rc, no question that the in-person participation of government officials is a huge advantage of having the conference in DC, and CFP will continue to be a frequent visitor to the nation's capital. balanced against that, the conference has been in the East for four years in a row now (DC, Montreal, New Haven, DC) and a lot of us worry that it's getting cut off both from the west-coast crowd and it's techie roots. so there are arguments both ways ...

Great speaker suggestion! We'll try to get the request in early ...

Sorry you couldn't make it, Kent. We're debating between DC and California for next year, with arguments both ways ... I'll be getting a thread on that up soon. If it's in DC, we'll sync up with the Privacy Law Scholars conference, which would probably mean the first week in June. If it's in California, we'll need to schedule around them, so probably later in June.

I want to see more of CFP in Washington... being able to ask questions directly of government officials (and exposing so many of them to the real issues that we're raising) is important!

I'd love to see the person who is chosen to head the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board as a speaker next year.

Sorry I missed this year's. Unavoidable conflict. Any idea where or when next year's might be?
